01Challenge

The Problem to Solve

Everyday emotional pressure rarely coincides with a scheduled support session. A person may need a brief space after work, late at night, or before the day begins — and the extended programmes, mandatory streaks, and content libraries found in most wellness applications add friction at exactly that moment. Herapy was designed to remove that friction, starting from the premise that adults facing daily emotional pressure need a private, accessible, and brief space for self-reflection. The product boundary is equally clear: Herapy provides general wellness coaching and self-reflection support; it does not replace medical care, licensed therapy, diagnosis, or clinical treatment.

02Approach

Design Approach

icitech built Herapy's product architecture around three core decisions. The first is voice-first design: a user can speak when writing feels difficult, and switch to text when they prefer silence. That dual mode gives the user control over how they express themselves and lowers the barrier to engagement. The second decision is the short ritual model. A four-step flow — Arrive, Speak or Write, Breathe, and Notice — replaces a long programme or content library. The intent is for the user to name their current feeling, express themselves, complete a brief grounding exercise, and become aware of recurring patterns over time. The third decision is pressure-free design: there are no streak requirements or gamification mechanics, and mood is positioned as a directional signal rather than a performance score.

The Product Experience

A session in Herapy opens with a simple check-in: the user indicates how they are at that moment. They then express a thought by voice or in writing. A short breathing or grounding step follows, suited to that moment's intensity. In the final step, the application provides weekly visibility and wellness insights, helping the user notice recurring themes and small gains over time. User control and privacy are founding principles of the product: personalisation and memory management belong to the user. In moments of crisis, the application maintains a clear boundary by signposting professional and emergency support channels.

Current Status

At the time this content was prepared, Herapy had not yet been published on the App Store or Google Play and was in the pre-launch announcement stage. Accordingly, no verified performance metrics — active user numbers, session completion rates, or stress-reduction data — are publicly available. The deliverable at this stage of the project is a clarified product architecture that combines low-friction AI wellness coaching, voice, text, short grounding, and weekly pattern awareness within a single ritual. icitech's contribution was within the scope of product design and experience architecture.
